Having mastered the techniques of photographing large birds in flight, I decided to set myself the challenge of photographing small birds in flight.
Most of these images were taken in my back garden, which gives me a chance to experiment with different techniques and at times photograph them from the comfort of my living room…
One of the smaller birds in my garden is the Great Tit. It is not the smallest bird in my garden but a regular visitor.
I turned my attention to Starlings one day. Probably a medium sized bird in flight, but I was impressed with the shapes that they create and the colours in the feathers. Quite beautiful for an often overlooked bird.
